How we earn
Keenvale earns money in three ways:
- Affiliate commission. When a reader follows a commercial link from one of our pages and later buys, the merchant may pay us a commission. The price you pay is not affected.
- Performance marketing. We run advertising campaigns that promote products and services we have evaluated, and are paid on the results of those campaigns.
- Services. We are paid directly by clients for digital marketing, measurement and compliance work.
Where the disclosure appears
A policy page is not, on its own, adequate disclosure. So on every page carrying a commercial link, a notice appears in the body of the page, before the content the link relates to and without requiring you to scroll to find it.
Commercial links are also marked in the page’s underlying HTML so that browsers and search engines can identify them as paid or affiliate links.
What a commercial relationship does not buy
It does not buy a verdict, a ranking position, or the removal of criticism. Where we recommend something, the reason is stated and the evidence is cited. Where a product is weak, we say so, including when we would earn from it.
We also publish what we did not test, so a reader can judge how much weight our conclusion deserves. That standard is described in how we test and in our editorial policy.
Current status
At the date shown above, one page carries a commercial link: our password managers comparison links to LastPass through an affiliate program. The notice described above is in place on that page, before the content it relates to. Every other page on this site — including all guides — carries no commercial links.
