Editorial policy
The rules that decide whether something can be published — written down so they can be applied the same way every time, and checked afterwards.

The first article
A page should still be useful to the reader if every commercial link on it disappeared. This is the test a page has to pass before anything else is considered. A page that only makes sense as a route to a purchase does not get published.
Sourcing
- Every factual and numeric claim is traced to a primary source — a published study, an official policy document, a vendor’s own documentation, or a test we ran ourselves.
- A number without a checkable origin is not published. This is a hard rule rather than a case-by-case judgement, because it is cheaper to lose an occasional true figure than to publish an unverifiable one.
- Numbers are given with the context that makes them interpretable: period, sample and conditions.
- Sources are dated, because third-party policies change and an undated citation eventually becomes a false one.
Independence
- A commercial relationship never determines a verdict, a ranking or a score.
- We publish criticism of products we earn from, and we recommend free or cheaper alternatives where they are the better answer.
- We do not accept payment to remove or soften criticism, and we do not give an advertiser approval over a review before publication.
Disclosure
Commercial relationships are disclosed on the page that carries them, in the body of the page, before the content the link relates to. A linked policy page on its own is not sufficient disclosure. The full policy is on the Disclosure page.
Review before publication
Every page clears a written checklist as a condition of going live — not as a review afterwards. The checks cover original content, partner terms, third-party marks, disclosure placement, the policy applying to the product being promoted, and whether the topic sits inside the scope we declared to our partners. A failed check blocks publication.
The result of each check is recorded, so a past decision can be audited rather than recalled.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we correct it on the page, and we say what changed rather than editing quietly. If the error changed a recommendation, the correction says so explicitly.

Use of AI
We use software tools, including AI assistance, in research and drafting. That does not change who is accountable: every published page is reviewed by a person against the rules above, and responsibility for what appears here rests with Keenvale. No page is published on the basis of generated text that has not been checked against a primary source.
